UAE (PR): The historical relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates are continuously on an upward trajectory that has been demonstrated on all occasions in the past. Even the food festival as part of the month long solidarity celebrations by the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) is a reflection how Pakistanis love this country. This was stated by Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates Mr. Jamil Ahmed Khan after the ribbon cutting ceremony at the PAD.Briefing the participants on food exports, Jamil Ahmed Khan said Pakistan’s exports of food products to the UAE have increased to cover US$ 500 million and more than US$ 1 billion to the GCC region.
Expressing his satisfaction over the presence of the Pakistani restaurants in UAE, Khan said there is a vast scope of further expansion as the Pakistani food is not only popular among the Pakistanis but the local Emiratis as well as the tourists from all over the world relish our cuisine.
He called upon the leading food chains from Pakistan and cooking experts like Mrs. Zubaida Tariq to come forward to tap this opportunity.
The Ambassador of Pakistan also appreciated the SIDDCO GROUP on constructing of the world’s largest flag of the UAE with the plastic bottles on the 41st UAE National Day. The triangular flag is made from 4,932 bottles with a total length of 105 meters and a height of 2.50 meters, which is also a unique effort of a Pakistani Group and is a contestant for the Guinness Book of World record.
Pakistan and the UAE besides having common heritage, common culture and religious affinity has also, in many respect, the same taste of food, said Ambassador Jamil while talking to famous illuminery Mrs. Zubaida Apa who gave a live demonstration of the cooking. Top class comedian Mr. Asif known as Mr. Bean also amuse the public with his interesting features during the exhibition and earned applaud by the crowd.
