Ambassador Jamil Ahmed Khan meets Chairman Emirates Airline, discusses bilateral cooperation

Abu Daubi UAE: “It is heartening to note that bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE is progressing in all fields including aviation industry”, said Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE Jamil Ahmed Khan while meeting His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman & CEO, Emirates Airline.

During the discussion, Ambassador Khan said that Pakistan greatly values its relations with the UAE. He expressed appreciation of the UAE’s significant economic growth in general and expansion of its Aviation industry in particular.

He stressed that the out-standing bilateral relations need to be translated into further enhancement in the volume of bilateral trade and investment particularly in the backdrop of shift of trade from West to the East.

The potential of human resource of Pakistan was also discussed during the meeting which Ambassador Jamil Ahmed Khan described as a multi million dollar industry. He further said that 120 million youth of Pakistan below the age of 30 years are an asset that could be deployed in the UAE and other Gulf countries. He said it may be considered a good business plan for the UAE and proposed to His Highness Sheikh Ahmed that Emirates may work out a 10-years requirement of human resource in the aviation industry for the entire Gulf region as it is a leading air line of the region and a trend setter in the aviation industry in the globe

He informed Sheikh Ahmed that Pakistan has already enhanced its vocational training system with its certification of renowned organizations like City & Guilds, Giz and ISO. He offered facilitating provision of building premises by the Government for the purpose of training of human resource with full quality control in their hand.

“Human resource projects like this could go a long way in poverty alleviation thus fading out extremism & terrorism in the country”, said Ambassador Jamil Ahmed Khan.
