Army ready to face any threat says Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif


ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has said that there is no reason to be worried about the recent attitude by India because the army is capable of responding to any aggression.

After President Mamnoon Hussain’s address to a joint sitting of the both houses of parliament on Thursday, General Raheel Sharif said the Pakistani Army and law-enforcement agencies knew well how to respond to aggression.

The Army Chief said the security situation in the country had improved and it would continue to improve in the days to come.

Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani who was present on the occasion informed General Sharif about the functioning of parliament.

The Army Chief appreciated the performance of parliament.

The two informally exchanged views on the Zarb-e-Azab and Karachi operations and the overall law and order situation in the country.
