ATC sends Amir Khan on 1 week remand

Anti Terrorism Court handed over MQM’s Rabita Committee member Amir Khan to the Azizabad police on a one week physical remand.

Security personnel had arrested more than 60 people including Amir Khan on March 11 during a raid conducted at the party’s 90 headquarters.

On March 13, rangers told courts that Khan will be kept on a 90 day preventive detention for question.

Rangers handed over Khan to the police, who presented him at ATC-2. The police contended that Khan confessed before a Joint Investigation Team that he was in charge of the Khursheed Memorial Hall area at 90, adding that he was sheltering the people suspects there.

The Azizabad police had registered a FIR on Rangers’ complaint. After both sides presented their arguments in hearing, the court handed over Khan to the police.

A large number of supporters and some Rabita Committee members were present on court premises and sloganeered.

Meanwhile, rangers released majority of the suspects that were initially kept for 90 days on preventive detention.
