Barclays’ training for slum dwellers


KARACHI: A certificate distribution ceremony was held here following Barclays vocational training imparted through Concern for Children (CFC) to young women of Metropolis’ largest slum Machar Colony. CFC is executing Community Driven Development Project (CDDP – organizing health, education & environment related programs) enfolding elements of awareness raising, capacity building, service provision & monitoring. Speaking to Pakistan Observer a CFC office bearer told that through Barclays sponsored project named Kawish, CFC aimed to empower one hundred women in a year   enabling them to earn wages within the ease of their homes & communities.
