Bus crash in India, dead 21, injures 17


21 people were dead and 17 injured, when a bus collided with a truck at high speed in central India.

The accident occurred when the bus carrying 38 passengers collided head on with a truck on the Khandwa Indore Road, in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Both vehicles were moving at high speed, the injured were rushed to hospital.


Deadly traffic accidents are common in India, with more than 200,000 fatalities annually, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Transport analysts attribute the huge number of accidents to poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.
