The Consul General of the People’s Republic of China Mr.Ma Yaou, hosted a Dinner Reception on the Occasion of Assumption of office at Consulate premises. KARACHI(PR): Pakistan is very fortunate to have a friend like China who has always stood by us through thick and thin. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah made these remarks at a reception hosted by the Chinese Consul General Mr Ma Yaou at the consulate premises on his assumption of office.

The chief minister said China had undertaken many projects in Pakistan and was in the forefront in investing in Sindh. He added that Pakistan and China enjoyed close cordial ties and were cooperating in many sectors. Senior minister Nisar Khuhro was also present with the chief minister and said the relations between both countries were exemplary.

The Chinese Consul General, Mr Ma Yaou in his address welcomed the guests and said Chinaand Pakistan are good neighbors, good friends, good partners and good brothers. He added both countries had always trusted each other, supported each other, treated each other equally and helped each other in hard times, regardless of the international arena. The all-weather friendship stands firm as rock and has taken deep root in the hearts of our two peoples, he said.

Mr Ma Yaou said the prime ministers of both countries had concluded successful exchange of visits, recording a new highlight in their relations. He said both sides reached wide-range consensus on developing bilateral relations and signed a series of important agreements of cooperation. The proposal of building a China-Pak economic corridor, in particular, presents a very broad prospect for bilateral cooperation.

The Chinese Consul General said China was delighted on the ever-closer exchange and cooperation in various fields between China and the provinces of Sindh and Balochistan. He added that the Chinese people are now striving for the “Chinese Dream”, with the aim of accomplishing a prosperous country, renewal of the nation, and people’s welfare and happiness. At the same time, the Pakistani people are working on their “Asian Tiger Dream” to achieve economic and social development. He concluded his speech by saying long live China-Pakistan friendship!
