The American Pakistan foundation is serving as a publicity partner for the third annual Soch Symposium at Columbia University.
Since its inception in 2016, Soch: Columbia Pakistan Symposium has provided a platform for intercultural and political dialogue. In 2017, under the theme of “Redefining Attitudes,” the conference successfully hosted an array of activists, artists, intellectuals, and entrepreneurs who offered innovative solutions and pertinent insights into challenges faced by Pakistan today.
Marking the 70th anniversary of the partition of the South Asian subcontinent, this year’s conference provides an opportunity to reflect on Pakistan’s issues with an eye on the past. By critically examining the ideals upon which it was founded, this year’s Soch Symposium hopes to explore if and how Pakistan has lived up to the values that Jinnah had envisioned.
Thus, Soch returns on March 31, 2018 under the theme “Rethinking Partition: the Quest for Jinnah’s Nation.” The event is open to the public.
