KARACHI: The Government of Pakistan has approved the appointment of Danial Syed Husain as the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau for Pakistan based in Karachi. The Guinea-Bissau Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities Mr Fernando Delfin da Silva issued a Letter of Commission and sent it to Pakistan’s foreign ministry in Islamabad.
Mr Danial S. Husain belongs to a prominent Pakistani business family and is the Vice President of Schon Group. He has vast experience in fiscal, strategic and operations leadership. He also possesses a strong track record of performance in turnaround and high-paced organizations due to his keen analysis and insights and a dedicated team approach to drive organizational improvements and implementation of best practices.
The Republic of Guinea-Bissau located in western Africa, gained independence from Portugal, in September 1973 and was officially recognized in September 1974. Guinea-Bissau has an area of 36,125 square miles and a population of 1.7million. The country’s economy is dependent on farming and fishing and has a GDP of $880 million with a per capita of $551.
