Delegation comprising of four ex-Ambassadors and eight businessmen visited Karachi from 16 to 18th of November, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Korea and Pakistan.
The delegation led by Chairman of the friendship association, ex-Ambassador Mr. Oh Jay-hee, visited Mazar-e-Quaid on Sunday and laid floral wreath while paying homage to the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and recorded his comments about the founder of the nation in visitor’s book at Mazar-e-Quaid. Later the delegation also visited Quaid-e-Azam House Museum where they learnt about the activities of Jinnah and the founding history of Pakistan
Pakistani side Pak-Korea Business Friendship Council (Chairman Mr. Ahsan Mukhtar Zubairi) invited the delegation on lunch where the members of both sides exchanged the opinions to promote the bilateral ties on private level between both the countries.
On November 18th, the delegation paid courtesy call on Chief Minister of Sindh, Mr. Qaim Ali Shah and discussed the ideas to increase the bilateral cooperation in various fields. In the meeting, Chairman Mr. Oh, who served as the first Korean Ambassador to Pakistan mentioned that the Korean businesses are interested in investing in Karachi, however to encourage investors, there is a need to create a desirable environment for investment.
Whereas, Chief Minister expressed his views that the more Korean companies should participate in the areas like Thar coal mining, Wind Energy Power projects, infrastructural development and agriculture.
