Karachi: Pakistani academia is enriched with all the requirements which is needed for development of any country the only thing which is needed, projection of scholars of the country, this was said by the Dr. Caroline Chibelushi who came from Staffordshire University, UK in 1st fourth day’s International Conference on Information and Communication Technology Trends 2013 which is being organized by Department of Computer Science, Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences and Technology with the collaboration of Higher Education Commission. The focus of event is contemporary global trends in the field of mobile and computer technologies. In the four days’ conference researcher form US, UK, Canada and Jordon and various parts of Pakistan are participating and presenting their research or research posters. The conference’s inaugural session was headed by the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr.Zafar Iqbal who urged national educational policy makers to promote the national language which is Urdu.He also said that it is a misconception that the subjects related to science and technologies cannot be taught in our national language, he gave the example of technologically advanced countries like Japan, China and Russia where the teaching is in their own language and the research is conducted in their national language. The conference Chair Dr. Kamran Ahsan, highlighted the main theme of the whole conference. In the Conference Dean and Director IBA, Dr. IshratHussain was the chief guest of the inaugural session. He said that in Pakistan 85 million population do not have education at all, which is a large population. If it is given education so the whole contrary would have been changed. He gave the example of Sri Lanka where 90% people are educated. The researcher form Department Dr. Abdul Basit was focused on innovative, inclusive, active research pedagogy and collaborative environment in the country in which he is working on. He said we have formed a forum RCET which would be working on the same idea. Nazir Laghari, editor of Daily Jung appreciate the efforts of the department for organizing a four days conference. Engr. Shabbir Ahmed Qureshi, Director PSQCA also said that it is a great movement that now Pakistani scholars are coming true research activities. He said research is the only thing which has dramatically changed the west. At the conclusion of inaugural session Vice Chancellor distributed the awards among the guests. The Conference will continue till 5 September.
