Hindus migration drama staged to malignPakistan

LAHORE, Aug. 12: Ameer,  Jamaat eIslami,Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the drama of Hindus’ migration toIndiafrom Sindh “because of insecurity” had been staged to malign the country in the world and the country’s media had played a highly irresponsible role in that.

Speaking at an Iftar dinner in the city on Sunday, he said that the protection and the rights available to the minorities in this country were unparalleled in the world. On the other hand, inIndia, the Muslims and other minorities were getting the worst treatment as even their places of worship were being razed and set on fire.

Syed Munawar Hasan said that for a couple of days, the media had continued the propaganda that the Hindus in Sindh were not secure. On the other hand, the concerned Hindu families were themselves saying that they were going toIndiafor pilgrimage and the impression given by the Pakistani media about their insecurity was wrong.

He said that the minorities inIndia, especially the Muslims were insecure and they were being subjected to attack every now and then . The outfits of extremist Hindus  inIndiawere hurling threats to them asking them to renounce Islam or leaveIndia. There was no such thing inPakistan, he added.

The JI Ameer warned that military operation inNorth Waziristanwould plunge the country into destruction, and urged the rulers and the armed forces to keep the national interest uppermost and refuse to obey theUSdictation.

The He said theUSwar on terror was in fact theUSwar against the Muslims and the soonerPakistanpulled out of it, the better.

Commenting on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf’s statement that the parliament’s completion of its term would strengthen democracy, Syed Munawar Hasan said that democracy would be strengthened not by hollow statements but by faithfully implementing the constitution and the law, giving the masses their rights and solving their problems.

He said that the PPP’s attitude during the last four and a half years was just the opposite. Throughout this period, the government remained in confrontation with the  Supreme Court and did not implement any of its order. The resolutions of the parliament were not given any weight and the masses were pounded with bombs of price hike and load shedding. Innocent citizens were being killed in drone attacks as the present rulers had gone ahead of Gen. rtd Pervez Musharraf in theUSslavery.
