Independence incomplete due to US interference, JI

LAHORE, Aug. 14: Addressing the Independence Day ceremony at Mansoora,  Ameer, Jamaat eIslami,Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that independence would be incomplete without endingUSinterference in the country.

Syed Munawar Hasan hoisted the nation flag atop the JI headquarters in the presence of hundreds of JI workers and leaders. Former JI Ameer, Qazi Hussain Ahmed and JI Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, also addressed. Renowned religious scholar and chief of the Jamiat e Ittehadul Ulema, Maulana Abdul Ma’lik, prayed for the solidarity and the integrity of the country, for the enforcement of the Islamic order and the liberation ofKashmir,Palestineand other occupied states.

Syed Munawar Hasan said that the rulers who were mental slaves of aliens and following their policies could not make the country and the nation truly independent. He said theUSinterference in was the root cause of terrorism, lawlessness, unemployment and poverty in the country. The rulers who were tasked to solve problems of the masses had become US slaves.   

 The JI Ameer pointed out that theUSand NATO could not realize their designs in the region withoutPakistan’s support. However, instead of benefiting from the strategic position of the country, the rulers had bowed before theUSand sold out national sovereignty.Washingtonwas now pressurizingIslamabadfor military operation inNorth Waziristanand the Haqqani net work although there was no such net work in the country.

Stating that general elections were likely to be held before the next Independence Day, Syed Munawar Hasan urged the masses to vote for the JI’ honest and God fearing leaders if they really wanted a change. He said that the next elections would be of immense importance for the protection of the whatever independence the country enjoyed and also for the raising voice for the liberation ofKashmir,Palestine,Myanmarand also for realizing the goal of freedom.

Speaking on the occasion, Qazi Husain Ahmed, said that the creation of Pakistan on the Jumatul Wida and the 27th of Ramadan, 1947, was not an accident, it was the divine will and the result of the sacrifices of the Muslims for centuries. It was a pity, he said, that we were fighting with one another instead of the enemy and our policies were being framed by the enemy.

He said, the Milli Yakjehti Council, a religio- political alliance, had decided to celebrate the independence day on the 27th of Ramadan in a befitting manner.
