TRADE DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF PAKISTAN
Karachi, 20 July 2012: Mr. Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) with the collaboration of International Trade Centre (ITC) is participating in “Benchmarking Program”, to further improve its service delivery to exporters. The 2-member Consultants of ITC called on Mr. Tahir Raza Naqvi, Chief Executive today at TDAP Karachi. They briefed Chief Executive that Benchmarking Program provides Trade Promotion Organizations (TPOs) an independent and objective assessment of their institutional situation, their efficiency and their performance in relation to the good business practices of other TPOs. Pakistan is one of the eight TPOs which are participating in ITC’s Benchmarking Program in 2012.
ITC’s mission visited TDAP, Karachi from 16th to 20th July 2012, and undertook series of interviews with the management in order to identify the areas where TDAP is performing well and where it needs improvement.
Mr. Naqvi, CE TDAP hoped that the results of the ITC Bench marking system will indeed assist TDAP in improving its service delivery to facilitate the exporters in much better way. The CE emphasized that there was an urgent need to incorporate the best practices of world TPOs in order to set the clear and measurable trade promotion targets.
