KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has demanded of the Prime Minister to reject the summary of Oil Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for increase in POL prices, as the expected increase in POL price will prove illogical, because the people are already facing poverty, inflation and unemployment.
In a statement issued here on Friday, JI Karachi Chief said that the OGRA is preparing itself to drop the “petrol bomb” on the people within days or two.
Criticizing the recommendations of OGRA in increase in POL prices, Hafiz Naeem said that the people will not accept the expected increase in POL prices, as they are already facing high inflated prices of daily use items.
“The sky-rocketing prices of vegetables and fruits have already increased the agony of middle and lower class people while the expected increase in POL prices will further aggravate the situation”, he added.
Hafiz Naeem further said that the PML-leadership before the elections had made tall claims in order to provide relief to the masses, but unfortunately the PML-N government is following the footsteps of PPP government.
JI Karachi Chief feared that if the PML-N government will not change its present policies, then the masses will not allow them to remain in the government.
He demanded of the government to announce immediate reduction by Rs50 in the POL prices, so that the masses can get sigh of relief.
