Lahore: The number of injection drug users in Lahore has increased to a record. More than 9 thousand drug addicts on the streets, footpaths, and gardens of Lahore are 80 percent injecting users. This was stated by Consultant Anti Drugs/Narcotics Campaign Syed Zulfiqar Hussain delivering a lecture on Youth Session regarding World AIDS Day, the youth session organized by Drug Advisory Training Hub (DATH) & YOCFAN. Dr. Shoaib Zafar, Syed Mohsin, Adeel Rashid, and others youth also talk on the No Syringe - Need Life. Syed Zulfiqar Hussain said that there was a growing trend of injecting drug addicts in parks, gardens, and sidewalks in Lahore. He said that the number of AIDS patients has reached 2 lack while the number of drug addicts has reached 9 million in Pakistan.
