Oslo, Norway (By Ahmed Tanveer):  Between 50 and 60 people have now been confirmed infected after the outbreak on Frogner. Oslo Municipality states that the omicron variant has been proven. The health service has received confirmation that omikron has been detected after an outbreak that started in the Frogner district in Oslo. So far, one person has been diagnosed with omicron infection, and more cases are expected. Active tracking is being done to limit infection routes and prevent major outbreaks. Here, there is a close dialogue between Oslo Municipality and the health authorities, the municipality writes in a press release. Assistant district chief physician and infection control chief physician in Frogner, Tine Ravlo, states that between 50 and 60 people have been infected in connection with the outbreak. According to Ravlo, the number may increase. When we have such outbreaks, there will often be more cases. We are used to that, says Ravlo. The infected live in different municipalities. The National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) is in contact with the affected municipalities. On Wednesday, she told VG that there is a "high probability" that the infected are infected with the omicron variant. According to FHI, the participants were recommended to test themselves in advance. The infected are adults and vaccinated. Most of them were infected in connection with a Christmas dinner with the company Scatec. Scatec's communications manager Stian Tvede Karlsen told E24 on Wednesday that the company had no further comment on the outbreak. He previously confirmed that they have employees who have tested positive for coronavirus. The positive test came after a Christmas party on Friday 26 November, Karlsen explained. On Wednesday, Oslo Municipality moved out and asked everyone who has been to Louise Restaurant & Bar at Aker Brygge on Friday 26 November in the period 22.30 to 03.00 to test themselves. This is where the Christmas table took place.  They also encouraged people who have been to the Old Irish Pub at Majorstuen on Saturday 27 November between 22.00 and 01.00 to take a test. One of the guests at the Christmas table was here on Saturday before the person was diagnosed with an infection.
