Dow Ojha Campus: Free CT Scan And Ultrasound Announced For Chest Patients

Karachi (Staff Reporter): CT scan and ultrasound facility will be provided free of cost to all chest patients at Ojha Institute of Chest Diseases while other medical facilities in the ward have also been improved which are being further improved. The announcement was made by Prof. Muhammad Saeed Quraishy, Vice-Chancellor, Dow University of Health Sciences, while addressing the occasion of the formal inauguration of ward renovation CT scan machine and ultrasound facilities at Ojha Institute of Chest Diseases. Pro Vice-Chancellors Prof. Zarnaz Wahid, Prof. Kartar Dawani, Prof. Nusrat Shah, Director OICD Prof. Fauzia Perveen, Dr. Faisal Fayyaz Zubair, Medical Superintendent Dow University Hospital Dr. Zahid Azam, Director Dow Institute of Radiology Dr. Nasreen Naz, Dr. Niaz Soomro, Dr. Saifullah Baig, and others were also present. Prof. Muhammad Saeed Quraishy said that Ojha Institute has been providing free treatment facilities to chest patients for a long time. All X-ray and laboratory tests for TB patients are also provided free of cost while medicines and all facilities are provided free of cost to all chest patients. While addressing the ceremony, Director Dow Institute of Radiology, Dr. Nasreen Naz, said that CT scans were needed to find out about any complications in the patients with Chest Diseases. Suspected TB patients in the OPD will be scanned free of cost. Yasmeen Sameeh, head of Yasmeen Trust, inaugurated the Ultrasound facility by cutting the ribbon. On the occasion, OICD Director Dr. Fauzia Parveen said that the ward facilities for inpatients have been improved and the facilities for patients in OICD are being gradually increased so that patients coming to OPD in number of Hundreds, will get the benefit.
