Police Arrest Two Diesel Smugglers
Karachi (by Pirbuxnoonari): police yesterday busted two suspects il-legedly involed in smug-gling of thousands of litres of lranian diesel.
Police said the culprits used a unique teshnique to smuggle the diesel. They were carrying the diesel in hidden tanks made in dupers of sandand gravel.
They said West Zone police busted the attempt of smuggling in Mang.hopir. The outlaws were carrying 30,000 litres of diesel in the tanks, said SSP Shoukat Khatyan. Last year in Septem ber an investigation re.port revealed that foursenior policemen acted as facilitators of powerful smuglers bringing in goods worth millions in Karachi illegally.
SSP West Dr Muham.mad Rizwan sent an investigation report to Additonal lG Karachi after crakdown against smugglers bringing in lranian diesel chhalia (betel nut) and othergoods illegally.
The report said that the District West police seized at least 27 vehicles containig 83000 liters lranian diesel andpatrol while 16600 kilograms of chhalia was also seized and suspects were booked.
