KARACHI: Governor Sindh, Imran Ismail here on Monday said that the Green Line Bus project in Karachi, mainly funded by federal government, is fast on its way to completion and would be open to public soon.
The Governor who visited the Green Line project construction site at Numaish underpass and drive through Green Line track was given an elaborate briefing by the concerned officials. The Governor said that the project would definitely facilitate the local commuters exposed to immense traffic related problems due to lack of planning in the ever expanding metropolis of the country.

He pointed out that adequate means of transport for the big city like Karachi had always remained a problem which exacerbated with the passage of time. “Project will not only accelerate the means of transportation but also reduce traffic congestion besides expending social and economic activities in the city”, he added.
The Governor pointed out that this project speaks volume of the federal government’s commitment to providing latest facilities to the people without any distinction.

Governor Sindh said that the sindh government was entrusted with responsibility of procuring buses, for the Green Line Project. However, there is already an inordinate delay in the procurement process. “Federal Government is ready to provide a fleet of required buses for Green Line project, to prevent further delay in complete operations of this project, keeping in view the importance of this public interest project”, he added.
