Joint Survey Of Industrial Unit
KARACHI: SSGC undertakes regular industrial joint load surveys to check for gas pressure and other relevant issues. On a tip-off from reliable sources, representatives of Measurement, Sales and Security Services and Counter Gas Theft Operations Departments visited a local business unit called Denim International in Port Qasim Authority on 10 December 2018. The team discovered the following anomalies:
a) Unauthorized connected load whereby Denim International had illegally extended its gas load about twice as more than the sanctioned load.
b) Illegal installation of 2 boosters.
c) Interconnectivity of captive power and industrial gas Connections.
Based on these valid observations, the team instructed Denim International through a letter to answer to these observations within 15 days of the issuance of the letter, while also stating that if satisfactory reasons are not provided, it would take punitive actions within the ambit of the law and company policies and procedures.
