UAE Pakistan Assistance Program Focuses Mainly On Healthcare, Polio Eradication & Education

Karachi (PR): The UAE Pakistan Assistance Program was launched in 2010 in keeping with the UAE’s foreign policy under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Building on the spirit of the Islamic and humanitarian fraternity, the Program has been implementing various projects across Pakistan to fight poverty, disease, and illiteracy and improve the general standard of living for the people of Pakistan. The UAE Pakistan Assistance Program focuses mainly on healthcare, polio eradication, education, and infrastructure. In addition to these, food security and clean water provision are also among the Program’s areas of interest. [video width="480" height="848" mp4="Pakistan-UAE.mp4"][/video] This vital Bridge was named after the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May God bless his soul) as a sign of gratitude, recognition, and appreciation for his significant generous development efforts to assist the people of Pakistan over the past years. His Highness was a rock-solid supporter of Pakistan and was keen to help Pakistanis achieve progress and development in various humanitarian, developmental, and cultural aspects. Particular significance is attached to the reconstruction of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Bridge which was built 40 years ago but destroyed by floods, leaving many villagers cut off and without necessary relief or supplies. The bridge is the most important in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, the main artery for Province inhabitants, and a vital link to the highway. The Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Bridge is a new architectural landmark and a tourist attraction thanks to its unique aesthetic design where a prototype of Al Jaheli Castle was built at the entrance of the bridge.
