Ambassador Jamil Khan while talking to the Managing Director of a software technology firm said that the citizen database would be collaboration between his office and the Pakistanis living in UAE.
Abu Dhabi Aug 26: Pakistan’s Embassy in the Emirates is set to add more value to its outreach initiatives with its plan to launch web-based as well as an SMS-generated community database aimed at indexing over a 1.2 million Pakistanis settled in UAE to be able to keep its citizens abreast of latest development and important announcements on round-the-clock basis.
The community portal is to be hosted by the Mission’s website and is meant to act as an efficient interface between the Pakistani-Emiratis and the Embassy, said the Ambassador. The software is as simple as punching the names and contact details on the website or by mere sending an SMS which makes it more convenient for the community fordata entry. This new initiative shall be up and running within 3 weeks.
The Ambassador elaborated that the new software will, at a later stage, be integrated with the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis. This will help in resolving difficulties of the community back home as well as enabling quick disposal of the complaints lodged by the Pakistan community with the Mission.
Ambassador Jamil encouraged the Pakistani community to make best use of this cutting edge initiative by logging on to the soon-to-be-announced website as well as an SMS code to get them registered for quality services.
