Rs. 75 MILLION APPROVED FOR PAKISTAN INSTITUTE OF TOURISM AND HOTEL MANAGEMENT KARACHI
Karachi, April 20: Rs.75 Million budget was approved for Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, Karachi for year 2012-13. Approval was made in a 43rd meeting of the Board of Governors of PITHM (Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel management) held under the Chairmanship of Minister for Tourism Sindh Mr. Muhammad Ali Malkani. It was also decided that five regional training centers for hotel management that will be established in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Thatta and Benazirabad where training and education will be imported to the students in the field of Hotel Management that will also create new job opportunities for youth in Sindh. Secretary Tourism Syed Safdar Ali Shah in his briefing, informed that modern computer laboratory and library equipped with 1350 books on the subjects of hotel management, travelling, tourism and food technology have been established for the benefit of students. Board of Governors also applauded the fast increasing enrolment of students in the PITHM that has increased from 314 to 794 within 4 months.
It was also decided in the meeting that Sindh government will be asked to provide the PITHM employees same pension and benevolent facilities as enjoyed by other Sindh government employees.
