Karachi, March 26, 2012 (FPCCI): Sheikh Hamayun Sayeed, Former Vice President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) and Chairman, FPCCI Standing Committee on International Delegations greets Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy daughter of late leading Industrialist and hilanthropist Sheikh Obaid Chinoy on wining the Oscar award for Pakistan and well deserved Hilal-i-Imtiaz. Her success also reflects grooming up of her late father who groomed his children as patriot.

Sheikh Hamayun Sayeed said that this recognition of Pakistani women will encourage the new generation to make strenuous efforts to be eligible to get recognition in their respective fields. He said that Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has become the first Pakistani women in the History of Pakistan to win ever first Oscar Award. He further said that the work she has done was not an easy documentary under the present circumstances. He also appreciated her dedication hard work and commitment to the country women.

Sharmeen and her team deserved every appreciation for their efforts. The documentary “Saving Face” will enlighten the problems of women of the developing world in general and Pakistani women in particular. The award will be a source of inspiration for film and media as Pakistani films and cinemas are facing challenges. Obaid-Chinoy’s documentary highlights the struggles and survival demonstrated by these abused women despite their difficult circumstances.

Former Vice President FPCCI and Chairman FPCCI Standing Committee on International Delegation said that this Oscar award for the documentary “Saving Face” will build Pakistan image internationally. He further added that, Pakistani people are blessed with talent and abilities having the potential to excel in every field of life.

Commented on Obaid-Chinoy’s win Sheikh Hamayun Sayeed said that Sharmeen is Pakistani Ambassador that has advocated the case of Pakistani women appreciably. This will set good tradition for our youth and new generation of Pakistan .
