BAN ON LIFTING OF RETI & BAJRI IMPOSED

Karachi November 29: The Government of Sindh has under section 144 Cr. P.C. imposed complete ban on illegal excavation/lifting of Reti & Bajri from Malir River Band for a period of sixty (60) days with immediate effect.

Karachi November 29: Entrepreneurship Development Program is an initiative to create capacity in the educated youth of Sindh for self employment and also to utilize the untapped resource base of agriculture of Sindh to its optimum capacity. This was stated by Chairman SBI Zubair Motiwala after a graceful launching ceremony and Orientation session of Entrepreneurship Development Program held at the Center for Entrepreneurship Development of Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi. The ceremony was attended by the faculty of IBA Karachi led by the Dean and Director, Dr. Ishrat Husain as well as Sindh Board of Investment. The main purpose of the ceremony was to welcome the first incoming batch of the Program consisting of 75 students fro the southern districts of Sindh including Karachi.

This is a unique initiative taken by Government of Sindh which include 6-months training program conceived and funded by the Sindh Board of Investment and being executed by IBA Karachi and Sukkur IBA. The vision behind the program has been highly appreciated at all levels in which heightened focus has been given to entrepreneurship and many advantages enterprise development like income generation, innovation and progress. It was further informed that EDP is a unique training program, which will be executed by IBA Karachi in lower Sindh and by Sukkut IBA for applicants from northern districts of Sindh. The program intends to inculcate entrepreneurial mindset in the youth of Sindh and also to nurture small and medium agribusinesses. The program is a diploma program and will consist of 4 months of classroom studies supplemented with 2 months of applied field training. Government of Sindh also intends to support the successful business models from the platform of Sindh Enterprise Development Fund (SEDF).”

Karachi November 29: Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Provincial Minister for Revenue Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar and Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh on Media Sharmila Faruqui have said that Pakistan Peoples Party is the largest political and democratic party of Pakistan and it has deep roots in all four provinces including Gilgit/ Baltistan and Azad Kashmir as well. Those who think about to eradicate Pakistan Peoples Party can never be successful in their ulterior motives. This they said in their separate statements issued here on Thursday on the eve of foundation day of Pakistan Peoples Party. They said that Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto founded Pakistan People Party and created a history in political history of Pakistan. Pakistan People Party was a party of martyrs who supported democracy with their blood. Provincial Ministers added ‘Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto with her own blood promoted democracy in Pakistan and due to her glorious struggle the way of the dictatorship in Pakistan has been closed in the country and her struggle for the promotion of democracy would be written in golden words.’ They said that the country was passing through a critical juncture. It was the need of the hour that all democratic forces should join hands and defeat all undemocratic forces. ‘Unity is the need of the hour. The spirit of tolerance should be promoted to eradicate terrorism and extremism in the society. President Asif Ali Zardari having given his powers to Parliament has created a unique example. We should forget our all differences and should work for the promotion of the democracy.

CALL CENTRE FOR 15 MADADGAR – RAZA HAROON REVIEWS THE PROGRESS OF THE E-POLICING

Karachi November 29: Centralized Call Centre Management System & Supporting Services have been successfully implemented / deployed by Information Technology Department, Government of Sindh in coordination with Police Department under the Project of Introduction of E-Police in Sindh. This was stated by Sindh Minister for Information Technology Muhammad Raza Haroon while reviewing the progress of development projects of I.T. Department at his office here today. Under the project, Vehicle Tracking System have been installed into more than 100 emergency response vehicles so far provided by the Police Department. This process is being continued as per availability of the vehicles, the Minister I.T. added.

            The Madadgar 15 Call Centre has been fully operative and functional since 13th January 2011 and the Madadgar 15 staff of the Police Department is fully trained and attending emergency live calls 24/7 on the new established system. Police Department has already taken – over the administrative and operational control of the Madadgar 15 Call Centre for last eleven months, the Minister concluded.
