CHIEF SECRETARY PRESIDES KCR/KUTC BOARD’S MEETING
Karachi, July 05: The 7th meeting of the Board of Directors of Karachi Urban Transport Corporation(KUTC) held, in Sindh Secretariat, chaired by the Chief Secretary, Sindh Raja Muhammad Abbas, who is also the Chairman of the KUTC Board of Directors.
Managing Director KUTC Ijaz Hussian Khilji apprised the meeting about Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) Project. He informed that socio Economic Survey of 4653 Housing Units on KCR-ROW (Right of Way) had been completed, and as decided by the KUT (BoD) the compensation @ Rs.100,00/= + a plot of land measuring 80 Sq. Yards per household/head of the family, is to be accorded. It was decided Managing Director KUTC and Administrator KMC would coordinate with the concerned stake holders including JICA.
The meeting recommended to include Metropolitan Commissioner – in the sub-committee of KUTC, instead of representative of defunct CDGK.
It was also decided in the meeting that the Administrator KMC, would convene a meeting of the stake holders viz BoR, KPT, KW&SB and KUTC etc. to resolve the land issue concerning to KCR.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary Implementation Rizwan Ahmed, General Manager Railways Junaid Qureshi, Director Superintendent P.R. Karachi S. Anzer Ismail Rizvi, and other concerned.
However, the Chief Secretary has called comprehensive report from Managing Director KUTC regarding KCR Progress, within 02 days.
Launch of Membership and First Trade Delegation of Pakistan-Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce & Industry
PAKISTAN AFGHANISTAN JOINT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY (PAJCCI)
Karachi, July 05: The launch of its membership recently followed by First Trade Delegation arriving from Afghanistan during July 13-15, 2012 are significant steps to reaffirm role of PAJCCI in bridging the gap between business landscape across the border. During the press conference in Karachi on July 5, 2012, President PAJCCI, Mr. Zubair Motiwala shared his perspectives with respect to the initiatives of this recently formed Chamber in strengthening the bi-lateral ties between the two neighboring countries.
Mr. Zubair Motiwala reflected that the Chamber has opened up its membership to all business entities interested in establishing the trade links between the two countries. He further elaborated that Executive body of PAJCCI is extremely keen in ensuring that the economic deliverables may be observed so that the core objective of this Chamber is achieved effectively. In order to facilitate the interested entities, a Membership kiosk of PAJCCI will be set up at “My Karachi” event organized by Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) at Expo Center during July 13-15, 2012.
President PAJCCI further detailed the media regarding arrival of Trade Delegation from Afghanistan during July 13-15, 2012. The delegation would visit “My Karachi” event and will also be briefed by Sindh Board of Investment (BOI) regarding available investment and trade based opportunities that may be utilized to establish the transfer of expertise and technology between the two countries. PAJCCI Secretariat will also organize a B2B Networking activity for the trade delegation whereby business communities from both the sides will get an opportunity to interact with each other and economic resultants may be derived upon.
This Chamber would also instigate Pakistani companies in ongoing Development projects, as there are vast opportunities for Construction, Engineering, Builders and Logistic companies in Afghanistan.
SINDH SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT SET UP WEBSITE – IMTIAZ SHAIKH
Karachi, July 05: Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Special Education, Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh said that the Sindh Special Education Department has launched official website at the government domain for easy access of the people.
He further said that government of Sindh is making every possible effort for the development of the department of Special Education and setting up a website is among the best steps taken by the department. While the Secretary Special Education, Sayed Muhammad Ali Shah told that the website could be accessed. He said that the department will welcome the contextual news, updates, feedback and digital resources from the people which should preferably be emailed to the department’s Deputy Secretary.
The Deputy Secretary, Aftab Ahmed Shaikh said that the first draft of provincial policy for special education and welfare of special persons can also be viewed at the website and feedback would be given.
GOVERNMENT BELIEVES IN SOLVING PROBLEMS – JAM MEHTAB
Karachi, July 05: Provincial Minister for Revenue, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dehar has said that the present democratic government believes in solving the problems of masses at their doorsteps and employment, education and health have been top priority of the government and it has provided jobs to thousands young men on merit. This he said while talking to various delegations here in his office today.
He said, ‘Following the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Sindh Government will be made no compromise in solving people problems and employment, health and education are on top priority’. He added that no conspiracy against democracy would get success. We believe in serving people. We have roots in masses and no power can separate us from people.
Provincial Minister said that the history of Pakistan Peoples Party was witnessed that whenever it came into power, it would provide employment to the people and Sindh government had given thousands jobs and in budget2012-13, new 20 thousands jobs would be created. On this occasion the members of delegations informed the Provincial Minister about their problems and he assured them that their problems would be solved at the earliest.
144 IMPOSED TO MAINTAIN LAW & ORDER DURING URS OF HAZRAT LAL SHAHBAZ QALANDAR
Karachi, July 05: Government of Sindh has imposed ban under section 144 Cr.PC. on the carrying of Fire Arms, batches explosives material/crackers, political slogan and posters etc in Sehwan; Swimming in Aral Wah, Danister Wah and nearby water channels; and Movement of heavy/boosa loaded vehicles and route diversion from T-More Jamshoro to Hala and Dadu towards Moro with effect from 5th July, 2012 till the end of Urs/Mela of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar(R.A.).
According to order issued by Home Department, the ban imposed on the apprehension of Deputy Commissioner Dadu to maintain Law & order situation on the occasion of Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (R.A.).
