WOMEN SHOULD WORK  HARD  TO GET PLACE- SHARMILA FARUQUI

Karachi, July 13:  Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh on Information Sharmila Faruqui has said that present democratic government has initiated programs liked Benazir Income Support Program, Waseela-e-Haq, Behan Benazir Basti, distribution of agriculture lands to landless women, women crisis centres in 16 districts, vocational centres to empower the women in the society because government wants to give due status to women. This she said while talking to groups of Reckitt Benckiser (RB) employees at their office on Friday.

            She said that government had passed bills for the protection of women rights and anti-harassment bill at work place that was a milestone in Pakistan’s history. She said, ‘Institutions should work in their limits and democracy should continue in the country.’ Sharmila Faruqui added that there was need to change mindset of the society regarding domestic violence and it was a fact that harassment culture was less on corporate culture as compared to other work places. She advised the women to work harder to achieve their goals because they had very much competition. She said that during last four years government had done a lot for the masses. She expressed her hope that changes were taking place gradually and new generation of Pakistan would definitely bring about positive changes. She said that more jobs to be given to the women in offices in order to enable to support their families. On this occasion chief executive Tahir Malik, Director HR Faisal Usmani, Marketing Director Tauseef Faisal and other officers were also present.

TRANSFER POSTING

Karachi, July 13:  Home Department, Government of Sindh has notified that Syed Noor Muhammad Shah, an officer of EX-PCS (BS-18), Deputy Secretary (Prs), Home Department, is hereby relieved to join his new assignment as Additional Commissioner –I, Mirpurkhas Division, with immediate effect.

While Mr. Ayhan Mustafa Bhutto, Deputy Secretary (Army) shall hold the Additional Charge of Deputy Secretary (Prisons) with immediate effect and till further orders.

RIVER INDUS IS FLOWING NORMAL – IRRIGATION DEPARTMENT

Karachi, July 13:  Director Regulation Irrigation Department Government of Sindh has informed that River Indus is flowing normal at Gudu, Sukkur and Kotri Barrages and will remain in normal flood at these stations during next 24 hours. 

He further informed that River discharges at Gudu, Sukkur and Kotri Barrages as recorded at 06:00 a.m. today are as under:
