PPP COMMITTED TO PROTECT THE RIGHTS OF MINORITIES – MUKESH KUMAR CHAWLA
Karachi, July 27: Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla has appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on recovery of Hindu businessmen who were kidnapped 16 days ago from Tulh and reiterated the commitment of Pakistan Peoples Party to safeguard the rights of minorities in Pakistan. In a statement issued here on Friday, the Provincial Minister said that Government of Sindh and specially Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah had played very vital role in recovery of businessmen Ramesh and Ashok and for theses efforts, they were really praise-worthy.
He said, ‘Pakistan Peoples party has always protected the rights of minorities. It is a fact that minorities have been playing their effective role in the development of the country. All minorities are also working in strengthening democratic institutions.’ Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had always appreciated the role of minorities. To safeguard the rights of minorities is the part and parcel of PPP’s manifesto . Mukesh Chawla requested the members of Minorities Communities to trust the present democratic government because it had committed to protect the rights of minorities.
THREE MORE REGIONAL OFFICES OF EPA SINDH APPROVED REGIONAL OFFICES AT MIRPURKHAS, LARKANA AND KARACHI TO BOOST UP ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING
Karachi, July 27: Owing to keen interest and untiring efforts of Sindh Minister for Environment Sheikh Muhammad Afazl (Khalid Umar) the operational frame work of Sindh Environmental Protection Agency has been expanded further. Now provincial environmental watchdog has filed offices in five megacities of Sindh including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana and Mirpurkhas apart from its headquarters based at Karachi.
Sindh Minister for Environment Shaikh Muhammad Afzal (Khalid Umar0 said that approval of three more regional offices of EPA Sindh is actually reflection of unwavering commitment of present government for the cause of environmental care. He further said that establishment of newly approved regional offices would expand the environmental monitoring frame work in Sindh which would eventually help control degradation in the province.
According to details Government of Sindh under the budget of current fiscal year has allowed EPA Sindh to establish three regional offices at Karachi, Larkana and Mirpurkhas. So far EPA Sindh has been working with its two regional offices one at Hyderabad and the other one in Sukkur which were established in 1998.
BAN IMPOSED ON ENTRY INTO PHULLELI CANAL FOR 60 DAYS
Karachi, July 27: Government of Sindh has imposed ban on the entry of animals and people into the Phulleli Canal for a period of sixty (60) days with immediate effect.
Government of Sindh has also imposed ban on the swimming/bath of people on Indus River Al Manzar Point and bridge of Karachi Wah for a period of sixty (60) days with immediate effect, in this regard Home Department Government of Sindh has issued separate orders.
