413 KG CHARAS, 258 GRAM HEROIN RECOVERED, NINE ACCUSED ARRESTED CAMPAIGN AGAINST DRUG MAFIA TO BE CONTINUED- MUKESH KUMAR CHAWLA
Karachi, October 3: Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that during a campaign against drug paddlers Excise & Taxation Department recovered 413 kilogram charas and 258 gram heroin from the possession of nine accused and impounded vehicles as well. This he said while talking to media men here at his camp office on Wednesday. He said that in various raids a tanker TLH479 was spotted on Super Highway at Kathore and when it was searched 400 kilograms charas was recovered from hidden parts of the tanker. Tanker was impounded and accused Gaimn Pathan was arrested, besides this from different parts of Karachi 5 kg charas was recovered from a Taxi and accused Niaz Muhammad was arrested, six kg charas was recovered from Muhammad Ghulam Qasim and he was arrested while more than one kg from Badshah Khan, sixty gram charas from Bahadur Zaman, 90 gram heroin from Syed Zamir Hussain , 70 gram heroin from Shahzad alias Bala, 90 gram charas from Moula Bux, 8 gram heroin from Akhtar Masih and 90 gram heroin from Shahzad and they were arrested as well. Minister Excise & Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that campaign against drug mafia would continue while Motor Vehicle Tax Recovery Campaign would be launched from 15th October. He added, ‘The purpose of Motor Vehicle Tax Recovery Campaign is to achieve tax Target.’ While expressing his satisfaction over the performance of his officers he directed them to perform their duties honestly and promptly in order to get desired objectives set by the present democratic government.
PPP CAN NOT THINK OF DIVIDING SINDH – SHARJEEL INAM MEMON
Karachi, October 03: Provincial Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that those who are opposing the Local Government Bill 2012, are doing nothing but politics and the aim behind this opposition is only point scoring and misleading the masses. So called nationalists have given nothing for the people of Sindh yet. This he said in a statement issued here on Tuesday.
He said that during three years in severe rains and devastating floods, not a single nationalist was seen in serving the masses. These nationalists introduced Kilashan kov culture, extortionism and kidnapping for ransom in educational institutions of Sindh. He added, ‘ Parties were asked in Assembly to submit their suggestions and amendments in the bill if they were against the bill but they did not do so. They just raised empty and old slogans only. ‘
Minister for Information said that these so called nationalists were provoking the people and giving the concept that Sindh was being divided and two parallel systems were being adopted in Sindh. He said local Bodies System 2012 is a unifor system for all the province. Mayors and District Councils Chairmen have got equal powers.
Mr. Memon said that Pakistan Peoples Party could never think of dividing Sindh. PPP was a symbol of federation. Pakistan Peoples party knew how to defend every inch of Sindh. ‘ People know the past of those who are opposing Local Government Bill 2012. People also aware of the past of those parties which are criticsing the bill. ‘ He concluded.

Karachi October 3: Government of Sindh, Home Department has notified that Mr. Saeed Ahmed Mahesar, an officer of Surplus Pool (BS-18) has been allowed to join Home Department as Deputy Secretary (BS-18) and join the Home Department. According to Notification Mr. Saeed Ahmed Mahesar has been posted as Deputy Secretary (Police), Home Department Sindh with immediate effect, until further orders.

Karachi October 3: Chief Secretary Sindh Raja Muhammad Abbas has emphasized the Government Officers to ensure their best performance to serve the nation and develop the country adequately. He was addressing a meeting of the participants of 97th NMC (National management Course) on their visit to Sindh Secretariat on Tuesday. Raja Muhammad Abbas maintained that the Sindh Government is endeavoring to facilitate the people in providing their basic needs , specifically in the field of education, water & drainage , industrial development and clean drinking water on priority basis.
Additional Chief secretary Malik Asrar Husain briefed that, Planning & Development Department is facing the challenges of Poverty unemployment, water shortage, energy shortage, poor communications and poor human resources. He noted that Sindh is contributing 68% in Federal tax revenue , 80% in Custom Duty and 35% in Central Excise Duty of the country.
Secretary Coal and Energy Aijaz Ali Khan pointed out that the Thar Desert is one of the largest coal reserves estimated at 175 billion tones. He also elaborated the shortage of Fast Track Thar Coal Development and the Key energy issues.
Secretary Rehabilitation Hashim Raza Zaidi informed the visiting officers that over 13 lacs people were generally affected in the flood and rain, with 13,221 villages and 359771 houses. All out measures were being taken for smooth relief, thereof accordingly.

Karachi October 3: The Government of Sindh, Information Department has notified that Mr. Muhammad Triq Imam, Mr. Ghulam Rasool Qambrani, Shah Muhammad Mughal, Mr. Ainuddin Qureshi and Mr. Faisal Zafar Farooqui, Information Officers (BPS-17) have been promoted to the post of Deputy Director Information (BPS-18) with immediate effect.
