FLOOD SITUATION REPORT- IRRIGATION DEPARTMENT

Karachi September 27: Director Regulation Irrigation Department Government of Sindh has informed that River Indus is flowing normal at Gudu , Sukkur and kotri Barrages and will remain in low flood at these stations during next 24 hours.  He further informed that River discharges at Gudu, Sukkur and Kotri Barrages as recorded at 06:00 a.m. today are as under:

TEST FOR 19000 TEACHERS TO BE CONDUCTED SOON-PIR MAZHAR UL HAQ

Karachi September 27:   Senior Provincial Minister for Education & Literacy Pir Mazhar ul Haq has said that tests for the post of 19000 teachers will be conducted soon while advertisement for the post of 1800 lecturers through Sindh Public Service Commission will be advertised. Training institutions will be established for the training of headmasters, headmistresses and principals in order to improve educational standard of the province. This he said while distributing offer letters to headmistresses and headmasters who have passed Sindh Public Service Commission Examinations here at NJV School on Thursday. He said that Sindh Education Department was getting head teachers done MBA management through IBA Sukkur and IBA Karachi and those who would complete successfully this course, would be given administrative responsibilities.

            Provincial Minister added that Government respected teachers and was striving hard to resolve their issues. Their many long standing issues had been resolved however it would take some time more to resolve the remaining issues. Government had awarded teachers time scale, promotions and other incentives. He said ‘Government does not believe in sex discrimination. Following the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, women are being empowered and their quota in jobs has been increased from 5% to 25%.’ Pir Mazhar ul Haq said that teachers should take care of their respect and dignity, pay attention to education and should work for the bright future of the province.

            He said ‘Transparent system has been maintained in Education Department with the support of President Asif Ali Zardari, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, coalition partners, members of Sindh Assembly and other stake holders.’

            Provincial Minister advised the teachers to enhance their capabilities to get more progress in Education Department. In past education was ignored and it resulted the destruction of education however present democratic government has given much more attention to education and allocated 20% of the budget 2012-13. On this occasion hundred offer letters were given to headmasters and fifty five offer letters were given to headmistresses. Secretary Education Mukhtar Soomro and Chief Program Officer RSU Pervaiz Sehar also spoke on the occasion.

SECRETARY WORKS TO HOLD MEETINGS AT HYDERABAD

Karachi September 27:   Secretary Works & Services Department, Qazi Shahid Pervez will preside a meeting to review Development Works pertaining to Road Sector Hyderabad Region in the office of Chief Engineer Highways, Hyderabad on Friday the September 28, 2012 at 10.00 a.m.

            He will also preside a meeting of Building Sector to review the Schemes of Hyderabad Region, on same day at 3.00 p.m.

            The Secretary will also visit the Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas Dual Carriage Way and hold meeting with Developers and Project Manager to review the progress of the Project on Saturday the September 29, 2012.
