Karachi (PR): Under its CSR initiatives, Sui Southern Gas Company Limited signed MoUs with Pakistan’s two reputable non-profit organizations, pledging its support to ‘The Citizens Foundation’ (TCF) and ‘World Wide Fund’ for Nature (WWF-P).
In light of these MoUs, SSGC will provide financial support to TCF, Pakistan’s leading organization, committed towards promotion of education in marginalized / underprivileged class of the society. SSGC is supporting TCF for their Merck Marker Campus-II, Quetta and Ali Hasan Mangi Campus, Larkana for a period of three years. SSGC has been funding TCF for its educational activities since 2007. According to the another MoU signed with WWF-P, an international environmental organization committed for preservation of environment, 10 Biogas plants will be installed in village Sonhari and Tousuf Hilayo some 35 kms from Thatta in the surroundings of Keengjhar Lake where the inhabitants lack basic amenities. WWF-P is working in partnership with Community Based Organizations and SSGC has been collaborating with them for last several years.
Managing Director SSGC, Mr. Khalid Rahman inked these MoUs on behalf of the utility, whereas Syed Asaad Ayub, CEO and Mr. Rub Nawaz, Senior Director signed on behalf of TCF and WWF-Pakistan, respectively.
Mr. Khalid Rahman while speaking, appreciated both the organizations for their committed efforts in their respective areas of work and said that due to the passion of their managements and pursuing their burning desires to make a difference, both the NGOs have made a name for themselves. He said that SSGC will continue to support the good causes being undertaken by organizations serving the under privileged communities in Company’s SSGC’s franchise areas of Sindh and Balochistan.
While speaking on the occasion, signatories of both the organizations acknowledged the support of SSGC for its continuous support in their endeavors and said that they look forward for the same in the time ahead.
On the occasion, SSGC’s Head of Corporate Communication Shahbaz Islam along with his team members, Salman A. Siddiqui, Ali Gohar, Zubia Sadiq, Syed Uzair Haider and Nauman Saeed, TCF’s Bushra Afzal and WWF-Pakistan’s Sania Khan and Asad Shahbaz were also present.
