Karachi (PR): The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) in coordination with Pakistan Missions is sending an eleven members Pharma Trade Delegation to  Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos from September (09- 16), 2013.

Ms Rabiya Agha Javeri, Secretary’ TDAP has issued specific instructions to explore export potentials in new markets. Accordingly , TDAP has made very effective arrangement for business interaction meetings of the delegates with the trade associations / chambers / buyers in three countries as well as for provision of logistics, interpreters and transportation facilities alongwith leaflet on delegates / company profiles for distribution in these places during B2B meetings The Delegation consists of eleven Pakistani companies dealing with a wide range of medicines, nutritional supplements, Tablets, Antibiotic medicines (Analgesics, Anti-diabetics, Anti-ulcers, Anti-allergies), Herbal Medicines, Eye-drops, ophthalmic preparations, Intravenous infusion / dialysis solutions, calcium, vitamins, syrups, specialty cosmetics etc.

Pharmaceutical is one of the emerging sector in Pakistan exports and every effort is being taken by TDAP to promote the exports of Pakistan. The import market of Vietnamis conveyed as of US$ 1.8 billion by Mr. Aizaz Khan, Pakistan Charge D` Affairs in Vietnam with accreditation of Laos as well.  Vietnam is being considered as one of the fastest growing Pharmaceutical market in drug spending .Its imports accounts for more than 70% of the market. Due to this reason, foreign companies are taking keen interest and about 4% are operating under joint venture agreements. The country has significant healthcare infrastructure which is reported to include 140 private hospitals and close to 900 public hospitals. Due to these reasons, many pharmaceuticals firms including Pakistani firms are keen to sell their products in Vietnam.

Cambodia is another potential market which has been highly recommended by Pakistani Ambassador H.E Mr. Amjad Ali Sher for sending Pharma delegation to that country. As per his assessment, Cambodia Pharma market was worth 170 million in 2012 and reported to register a substantial increase in 2013. Due to this , international Pharma companies are increasingly making inroads in the Cambodian market to sell their products and several companies are implementing sales expansion plans. The big Pharma names from Indonesia, China, Japan, Germany and France have their significance presence in Cambodian market.

Dr. Riaz Ahmed would be the Leader of the Delegation. He is Chairman of PPMA Export Committee & CEO of M/s.Shrooq Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd.
