Karachi (PR): Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) was awarded high-level laurels at the 37th Annual Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Export Awards on Saturday.
The annual export awards, conducted by the country’s apex trade body, recognize the efforts of leading businessmen and exporters across Pakistan. Secretary, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Ms. Rabiya Javeri Agha, was awarded an exclusive gold medal for the organization’s progress in attaining export targets, and holding the Expo Pakistan 2013 in a professional manner. Ms. Agha, an experienced career bureaucrat, received the award from the Chief Guest, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Nawaz Sharif at Pearl Continental Hotel. The event, hosted by Mr. Zubair Malick, President of FPCCI, was attended by over 700 guests, including Federal Minister for Commerce, Engr. Khurram Dastgir Khan, ambassadors, foreign diplomats, Senators and leaders of the business community. Gold medals and trophies were also awarded to 67 other exporters and businessmen for the achievements in the field of trade.
Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, established in 2006, is the successor organization to Export Promotion Bureau, and the sole federal body mandated with global trade promotion.
TDAP hosts Expo Pakistan annually, the country’s largest international exhibition, which showcases products from across all sectors and regions of the country. The organization is working towards numerous projects for the enhancement of the nation’s trade, including WEXNET, an event to promote female entrepreneurs, and Expo Pakistan 2014.
