(Austria Vienna By Muhammad Aslam) –  The European statistics agency Eurostat announced on Thursday in Luxembourg. Austria  is the second richest country in the 28 EU member state.In 2012, the gross domestic product (GDP) per head there for more than two and a half times as large as the average for the 28 EU Member States. In the list that was created on the basis of price-adjusted data, followed Luxembourg Austria and Ireland, which were 30 and 29 percent above the average. Germany ranked # 7, there above the EU average, exceeding the level of prosperity by a fifth.Terms of per capita income is Austria behind Luxembourg is the second richest country in the European Union. Germany ranked at number 7, at the very bottom of the list are Romania and Bulgaria. Richest country is by far the Luxembourg, in second place.  In the list that was created on the basis of price-adjusted data, followed Luxembourg Austria and Ireland, which were 30 and 29 percent above the average. Germany ranked # 7, there above the EU average, exceeding the level of prosperity by a fifth.Much later in 2012 were the crisis countries Spain, Portugal and Greece. There, the per capita income was 4, 24 and 25 percent less than the total of all member countries. At the very bottom of the rankings were Romania and Bulgaria with a GDP per head, which was still less than half the EU average.The per capita income is often used for welfare comparisons among economies. However, it provides only a very crude and simplistic representation. Also Eurostat pointed out that the actual consumption of households is a better measure. But even with its use was clearly Luxembourg 2012 ranked 1st among the EU countries. The economic power of the small country is also benefiting particularly strong cross-border commuters from Germany, France and Belgium, the commute to work in the Grand Duchy. Austria was the EU in 2011, the third richest country. Thus, the Alpine republic over 2010 pushed forward by two places, then it was only fifth.
