Closing date: 31/07/2022
Location: National (England-wide) – working virtually, with some travel for in-person meetings
In partnership with the British Youth Council, we’re looking for our next cohort of Future Voices Ambassadors to join our Future Voices Group. Future Voices Ambassadors are young people who are passionate about improving access to good work for young people facing disadvantage or discrimination.
Our vision is of a society where all young people have equitable access to good quality jobs. Youth Futures Foundation launched in 2019 as the only organization in England focused on improving the employment outcomes of young people who face disadvantage or discrimination when trying to get into good quality work. We work with policymakers, researchers, funders, practitioners, employers, and young people to identify what works to help young people get into and keep good work. Using this research and understanding we find ways to improve the system around youth employment.
Our Future Voices Group (made up of our Future Voices Ambassadors) is a group of expert advisors set up to put lived experience of young people’s challenges at the heart of our approach. The Future Voices Group feeds into everything we are doing – including the things we fund, the research we do, and how we work with policymakers, employers, and other key partners.
As a Future Voices Ambassador, you will be one of our expert advisors, using your personal experiences to shape how Youth Futures works. You will work individually and as part of the team, including working with other advisory groups and panels (such as our Employer Advisory Board, or the cross-sector Youth Employment Group) and producing digital content for our Future Voices digital space. You will be provided with full training and support, including from our partners the British Youth Council, to do your job to the best of your ability.
More than anything, we value and celebrate the unique experiences and contributions of the young people we work with – so to be eligible, you need to be aged between 16 and 24 years old, live in England, and have experience of, or come from a community that experiences, challenges getting into employment.
