KARACHI (PR): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that according to the Constitution of Pakistan, he is neither accountable to the Prime Minister nor to any other official of the federal government I am only accountable to the Sindh assembly. While the letter related to federal minister Ali Zaidi is a purely official and confidential matter so he will not discuss it in public or in the media be we are responsible provincial govt. He said this while talking to media after the inauguration of the Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility at Ojha Campus of Dow University of Health Sciences. Prof. Muhammad Saeed Quraishy, Vice-Chancellor of Dow University of Health Sciences, Sindh Secretary Health, Pro Vice-Chancellors Prof. Kartar Dawani, Prof. Zarnaz Wahid, and other faculty and administrative officers were also present Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility and Dow Institute of Life Sciences. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Sindh Chief Minister further said that whatever suggestions for financial grants have been given by the Vice-Chancellor of Dow University Prof. Muhammad Saeed Qureshi, will be provided as much as possible so that Dow University do not face any hindrance in providing the health services similar to the health facilities provided by Developed countries, due to financial difficulties. Pandemic attacked, Dow was the only institution in our province that could have fought against it in a better way, and it did just that. It fulfilled the expectations of the Sindh government. I have been tested myself for Covid several times from Dow University. I have got the results in at least five hours while in London and other countries it took more than 24 hours. He said It is better for us to make our own medicine than to buy medicine worth crores of rupees from abroad. He congratulated the Vice-Chancellor of Dow University, Prof. Saeed Qureshi, and said that you and your team are commendable who have succeeded in developing a large number of life-saving medicines in Dow University. The Chief Minister visited various units of Life Saving Lab. Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor, Dow University City, while briefing the Sindh Chief Minister, said that Dow University has obtained a license to manufacture snake and dog bite vaccines. He said that the biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility of the university could produce various types of life-saving vaccines. Dow University has also been issued the license to make medicines from blood components. Later, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah visited Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital and Research Center. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Vice-Chancellor Dow University Officer Muhammad Saeed Quraishy, Sindh Health Secretary, and other officials. The Chief Minister said that the Sindh government is quite serious about the health of the people. That is why full cooperation is being given in the medicine preparation projects of Dow University. He said that the government of Sindh is paying full attention to the health sector which would benefit future generations. The Sindh Chief Minister visited various parts of the hospital including the HD ward of Nipa Hospital and also interacted with the patients. Professor Saeed Quraishy thanked Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah for his visit.
