Norwegian King hospitalized in Oslo

Oslo, Norway (By Ahmed Tanveer): Norwegian #king Harald V, 83, was admitted this Friday to Oslo’s main hospital, according to the #Norwegian royal palace, which did not provide further details on the monarch’s health. The royal palace declared that #Crown Prince Haakon temporarily took over his father’s official duties, including attending a scheduled meeting with the #Norwegian Government. The monarch, a figure representing his country’s union, had already been hospitalized in early January. The monarch had been operated on in 2003 for #bladder cancer, then underwent another operation in 2005 for heart valve problems. With a great sporting spirit and captain emeritus – he participated in the #Olympic Games and won several other competitions -, Harald has shown a fragile health in recent years, but has always refused to abdicate. The monarch ascended the throne after the death of his father, #King Olav, on January 17, 1991. Harald V was the first king to be born on #Norwegian soil since the 14th century, married a commoner – Sónia from Norway – and won hearts in his country by leading the mourning in 2011 for the victims of the massacre caused by the right-wing extremist Anders Behring Breivik, who left 77 dead in 2011. (Please send your news, article, pictorial on our email address < & WhatsApp +923132434567
