Operation in Ukraine has not yet affected the registration process of Sputnik V — WHO


GENEVA: The World Health Organization (WHO) inspections scheduled for March of Russian production of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine will depend on the UN security assessment and the development of the situation in the region.

The evaluation of the quality, safety and effectiveness of vaccine production is carried out by WHO to include drugs in the list of products recommended by the organization for procurement in an Emergency Use Listing (EUL). This is a prerequisite for the supply of vaccines through the COVAX program launched in April 2020. The goal of the initiative is to provide vaccines for COVID-19 to low and middle-income countries.
